Elizabethan Jewelry

I went to Minneapolis a few years ago to visit my big sister from Meredith, Beth, and she took me to this adorable jewelry store, Sheer Addiction.  Tamara makes her jewelry right there, it is unique and interesting.  She recently posted this beautiful necklace that she said was inspired by the movie "King's Speech."

Elizabeth Necklace
And wouldn't you know it, it's sold out.....bummer!

Happy Un-Valentine's day!

Well, the day is upon us and I'm telling you....this is always the worst day...no matter how hard I try to keep my chin up....it's no use.  Thank God it is only one day in the year and thank God for a bottle of red wine!

I hate Valentine's Day!

There is one day every year that is another reminder about how it sucks being alone.....Valentine's Day.  The funny thing is that even when I have been in a relationship on Valentine's Day, I hate the pressure of the day....if I could safely buy my own Valentine gitft, I know that I would buy myself some very pretty things!!!!

Love this necklace!

Missed me?

I cannot believe how long it has been since I've posted....so sorry for that but my life has become increasignly busy with little personal time and I honestly haven't been inspired by anything either...BUT I do want to share an update on one of my New Year's resolutions!  I am heading to Peak Experiences tomorroww for my rockclimbing class!  This one has been on my list for so many years that I am thrilled to finally make it happen.  More to report tomorrow!!!!

Looking for a guy like this....

It's hard to find a good man, if I could find a guy like one of these then it might be a whole different story.....

Blake Mycoskie is the Founder and Chief Shoe Giver of TOMS Shoes, and the man behind the growing One for One movement. As of April 2010, TOMS has given over 1,000,000 pairs of new shoes to children in need through giving partners around the world.

And he's totally hot!!!

Or there is always David....

"By the time you read this, David de Rothschild will be floating somewhere in the middle of the Pacific Ocean on the Plastiki, a 60-foot catamaran made primarily from used plastic bottles. Assuming, that is, all goes as planned. ‘‘The boat only averages five knots,’’ he says with a laugh about the ambitious 11,000-mile itinerary. ‘‘That’s about six miles an hour.’’ But the 31-year-old heir to the Rothschild banking fortune is no stranger to adventure. Having visited some of the most beautiful places on the planet — in 2004 he trekked across Antarctica via the South Pole — he now travels to some of the most blighted, sharing his stories and spreading awareness through his Web site, adventureecology.com."
Rich, adventurous and a Rothschild....tres, tres chic!!!

And then there is Anderson.....

I don't even need to explain who he is.....I'm quite sure he plays for the other team but his passion for issues near and dear to my heart make him irrestistible.  And his mother was Gloria Vanderbilt, I mean really...what's not to love....
And of course, there is my favorite blonde, Paul Walker.....

We all know that he has a smokin' bod but did you know he recently started his own non-profit?  It is called Reach Out Worldwide (roww.org) and he created it after the Haiti earthquake to provide immediate medical care when there is a natural disaster.  A great concept, a great need, a great all-around guy....

Now I know why I am still single, I have not found a guy like this anywhere near Richmond....maybe in 2011!!!

Resolutions for 2011

Welcome 2011!!!!  I love the start of a new year, it begins full of hope, fresh starts, new beginnings....

So let's start the year with resolutions, and not the kind that wear off within a few weeks but the ones that have a chance of sticking and spreading to others....

I resolve to wear my fun shoes any day of the week.  No more waiting for a special "night on the town."

I resolve to say NO more at work and YES more in my personal life....

I resolve to learn how to meditate and bring peace into my daily life.....

I resolve to drink champagne whenever I want, no special occasion necessary...

I resolve to spend more time outside....camping, hiking, whitewater raftting maybe?

I resolve to dance like no one is watching....

I resolve to catch up on all the reading I didn't do in 2010.....

I resolve to learn how to swim....now don't laugh but I've never mastered anything more than the dog paddle and would like to feel a bit more comfy in the water...

What do you resolve to change in 2011?

Favorite moments of 2010

2010 was full of some great times, great trips and great friends.....

Started the year with my annual post-holiday bash with some of my favorite people and my dear friend Whitney came down from DC.  I was her childhood nanny and now she is all grown up, so happy to be back in touch with her.  There is something so refreshing about an old friendship.....

Whitney invited me to support FOCOS in NYC in the spring and was thrilled to support her and her endeavors, what a great night!!!

Old friends are the best friends...

It was time for a Meredith Reunion (I won't dare say how many years) and it felt like old times with the girls of MC!!!!  These 4 years were some of the best of my life and many of these girls are the reason why....
